Fleet covers everything about owning aircraft in Pilops: what is in the catalog, how to buy or rent, how to keep an aircraft flying and where to park it.
How a fleet grows
Every pilot starts with a free Cessna 172 Skyhawk in a free hangar. From there the usual path is:
- Earn Pilops Coins flying the Cessna, then buy or rent something with more seats and more payload. See Buying an aircraft and Renting an aircraft.
- Keep it maintained. Engine hours and landing cycles wear an aircraft down until it is grounded. See Maintenance.
- Add hangars at other airports so you can base aircraft where the jobs are. See Hangars.
- Trade. Sell aircraft you no longer need, or pick up a used one from another pilot. See Marketplace.
Categories
The catalog has 106 aircraft in four categories:
- Propellers: piston aircraft on AvGas, the entry level.
- Turboprops: turbine propeller aircraft and classic transports for regional work.
- Jets: business and light jets.
- Airliners: airliners and large freighters.
The category also sets the engine maintenance interval and, for company aircraft, which tier a company needs before it can operate them. See Company tiers.
