Companies are the virtual airlines of Pilops. A company has its own name and three-letter ICAO code, its own balance, its own fleet and hangars, and a roster of pilots who fly for it. Every company is founded and run by players.
Why fly for a company
- Fly aircraft you do not own. A company can buy or rent aircraft and put them at the disposal of its pilots.
- Earn a commission. Each company sets the share of flight revenue that goes to the pilot's personal account; the rest goes to the company. See Commission.
- Grow together. Flights completed by the pilots count toward the company's tier upgrades, which unlock bigger aircraft and more hubs. See Company tiers.
- Fly from hubs. A company operates from hubs at real airports; its hangars, stands, routes and jobs live inside the area around those hubs. See Hubs and operating area.
Finding a company
The Companies page lists every public company, ranked by fleet, hubs, pilots or commission. You can search by name, ICAO or hub, and switch to a map that draws the operating area of every company, which is the easiest way to find one that flies where you want to fly. Private companies are only visible to their members.
Each company page shows its tier, hubs and operating radius, live flights, pilots board, fleet, stands and routes, and whether it is accepting applications.
