Hubs and operating area

A hub is a company base at a real airport. The operating area is the union of circles drawn around every hub, with the radius given by the company's tier. Almost everything a company does has to happen inside that area.
Hubs
- The first hub is chosen when the company is founded. It is free and comes with a free small hangar.
- Additional hubs are added by the admin from the company page (Add hub). The number of hubs is capped by the tier: 1 for Regional, 3 for National, 10 for International.
- A new hub must be inside the current operating area, except for International companies, which may place hubs anywhere in the world.
- Each hub can hold up to 4 hangars. See Company fleet and hangars.
Price of additional hubs
The first hub is free. From the second hub on, the price starts at the base below and is multiplied for every hub the company already has:
| Currency | Base price (second hub) | Multiplier per existing hub |
|---|---|---|
| Pilops Coins | P$ 300,000 | ×1.9 |
| Pilop Points | Pp$ 1,500 | ×1.25 |
The company page shows the exact price before you confirm.
Operating area
The area is shown on the company page and on the Companies map. The radius is 400 nm per hub for Regional companies and 1,000 nm for National and International.
Inside the area, the company can do everything. Outside it, these actions are blocked for the company:
- Renting an aircraft based at an airport outside the area.
- Buying a hangar.
- Renting a stand.
- Creating a route whose origin or destination is outside the area.
- Loading cargo or passengers bound for a destination outside the area.
Aircraft, stands and routes that end up outside the area (for example after a change of hubs) are flagged Outside operating area in the app. A company stand left outside the area can be refunded.
Personal accounts have no operating area: a pilot flying their own aircraft can go anywhere.
Companies created before hubs existed
Older companies that have no hub see a Set up your first hub notice. When the first hub is added, all the company's old hangars are sold and refunded to the company, and the company's aircraft stay locked until they are assigned to a hangar at a hub.
