Levels and XP

From Pilops Wiki

This is the approved revision of this page, as well as being the most recent.

Every flight earns experience (XP). XP adds up to your level, and your level decides the rank title you carry on your profile and your place on the global ranking.

XP per flight

The XP for a flight comes from distance and time:

XP = (0.7 × distance in nm + 0.3 × flight time in hours) × 10

A 100 nm flight that takes one hour gives (70 + 0.3) × 10 ≈ 703 XP. Distance matters far more than time, so longer legs are the fastest way to level up.

XP per level

The total XP needed to reach a level grows steadily:

XP for level L = 18 × L^2.28 + 40
Level Total XP needed
1 58
5 746
10 3,470
20 16,698
30 42,026
50 134,603
100 653,580

There is no level cap. The Levels page in the app shows your current level, the XP toward the next one and your rank.
