Fuel

Fuel is bought on the Pilops website before you connect the simulator. It is the third step of Planning a flight, and it competes with cargo and passengers for the aircraft's weight.
Fuel types and prices
Each aircraft type burns one of two fuels. The price is per pound and is the same at every airport:
| Fuel | Used by | Price |
|---|---|---|
| AvGas | piston aircraft | P$ 3 per lb |
| Jet-A1 | turboprops, jets and airliners | P$ 5 per lb |
The Fuel step shows the price in your weight unit (lbs or kg, set in Settings); the value above is the pound price.
The weight budget
Fuel, cargo and passengers all draw from the aircraft's cargo capacity. The Fuel step shows the Cargo Summary with the Total weight already loaded and the Available Weight for Fuel. The slider stops at whichever is lower: the tank capacity or that available weight. If you hit the limit you see "Maximum aircraft weight limit reached. Available fuel: …" or "Cannot exceed aircraft weight limit. Maximum fuel allowed: …".
To carry more fuel, remove cargo; to carry more cargo, remove fuel.
Paying
Move the slider and click Next. A confirmation shows "You are about to add … of fuel. Confirm to proceed with the payment." and lets you pick the Payment method: your personal account (Use my personal account) or the company account, when the company allows pilots to refuel with its money. The cost is {amount} × {price per unit} and is deducted immediately. See Bank.
Removing fuel
You can also move the slider down. Removing fuel is free ("No payment is required for fuel removal") but you are not paid back: "You are removing fuel from the aircraft, this amount is not refundable."
Fuel in the simulator
The fuel you buy here is what the Pilops Client expects to find in the tanks. Load the simulator with that amount. While a flight is being tracked:
- Fuel that appears in the tanks (a refuel in the simulator, or an add-on's fuel panel) cancels the flight once the gain is confirmed and exceeds 5% of the tank capacity.
- Fuel that stops burning while the engines are running, as with the "unlimited fuel" assistance, cancels the flight.
- Pausing is fine: nothing is counted while the simulator is paused.
Fuel left in the tanks after landing stays in the aircraft for the next flight. The Used fuel of each flight is recorded in your Flight history.
